Guns N’ Roses are Irish coffee with Sugar Cream Pie

Since we just examined Rolling Stones and Living Colour, let us round out the trifecta with the 3rd band to play LA's Memorial Coliseum back in October of 1988. This was when GnR filled the final slot of a legendary 4-show run in LA for the Stones tour backing their new release, Steel Wheels. GnR happened to be pushing their second major release, Lies, featuring the dumpster-fire-of-a-song One in A Million, which effectively polarized fans, critics, and their own band members. For this episode I talk with Dan Hinkel, a former writer for the Chicago Tribune as well as an old neighbor from my hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin. We will discuss the origins of all 5 original band members, weigh the pros and cons of some of their "replacements", examine how GnR become such a rock force to recon with, and expose the perfectly crafted food/ beverage combination to tie it all together. Have a good lunch and please review us on Apple Podcasts!
